I split the Ben special, which is rib meat on Texas toast, and a pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast with my sister. Both very good, although the pulled pork was far and away the star. The fries left something to be desired, could've been fried a little longer, but the barbecue itself was so good I can't hold that against them. Also split a side of Mac and Cheese with my husband and that was great. Definitely gonna head back and try some more of their BBQ and subs. Added bonus, staff was great and gave us some awesome recommendations.

This place is great! The service is very nice and it's quick too. In the front you have the booths and in the back (separate room) you have the bar. There are two big tvs in the front. It's family friendly. About the food: Mac N Cheese is perfect (i'm a huge critic and I loved it). The pulled pork is amazing! it's on point. Make sure you have it mixed in with the BBQ sauce. The corn bread is great too. I really loved this place. It's definitely become one of my top five places to eat.

A friend of mine introduced me to this place! We decided to have dinner here last night, and after perusing their extensive menu, we wanted to try everything! We ended up ordering baby back ribs, brisket, and a cheesesteak sub with onions and mushrooms! Everything was awesome. The sub was loaded with tender steak and full of flavor. The ribs were tender and juicy and had a nice smoky flavor! The sweet homemade BBQ sauce on the table was awesome! I am very hard to please when it comes to sauce and this one was almost as good as my Mom's sauce! We got mac n cheese and fried corn with the ribs. The mac n cheese tastes like it comes from a box, so I will pass next time. The fried corn however was delish! I will definitely order that again! The brisket was my fave! It is sliced thin and served with au jus. To be honest, it was so moist, the sauce wasn't necessary! It had a nice smoky flavor and I used the leftovers to make a sandwich today! This place is what I would consider a hole-in-the-wall, but it's clean and the employees here are friendly, helpful and efficient (a rarity in Miami)! I really like their food and plan to visit often!

Food was amazing! Ordered the brisket platter ($7.99) which included two sides and the pulled pork platter ($6.99) which also included two sides. Aaaaamazing. Tried the mac n cheese, bbq beans, and cole slaw amd they were all great. Bbq beans was the best of the three. Both platters come with corn bread. Also tried the key lime pie and it was wonderful. Place was super clean, staff was nice. Can't wait to come again.

Went here for dinner, ended up burping all evening after eating the rib sandwich. As of now I have been having explosive diarrhea and vomiting. I can not get the taste of the ribs out of my mouth of the BBQ sauce. What a horrible experience. This place won the award for having food just as disgusting as TacoHell!
(1)Rose Y.
I love love love this place! Seriously you need to try it. I've come here for lunch and dinner, the staff is always great and in a good mood. Their food tastes great, it's one of the few places that I feel comfortable trying something completely new and know that I won't be disappointed. It's not expensive either and they make the subs fast. I will be coming back here again whenever k can.

Brisket is dried out. Prefer a fresher fattier cut. Ribs are supposed to be award winning ! Def not the best ribs I've had in south florida. I've had better ribs off a good truck. There were just ok- didn't really fall off the bone or wow me in any way. Mac and cheese was cold and used fake cheese or so it seemed. Velveta maybe?! CornbreAd was dry and old. Beans were the best thing thing I got here. The caramelized onions and the pieces of pulled pork inside made it heavenly. Staff could have been more friendly then what they were. They seemed confused and not personable at all. The chef who I believe may be the owner was the most helpful. Ps a combo platter would be a great decision for the future - I spent 20 bucks on 1/3 racks rib, brisket, 2 sides, cornbread and soda ... Limit the brisket amount give a 1/4 rack rib - 2 sides and fountain drink ! I would pay around $14-$15 for that if I had the more smorgasbord setup. Decent at best.

Steak bomb with no cheese and a Green Flash barley wine to wash it down. This place is great and the guys that work here are super cool. Definitely coming back. Thanks for the great service and food guys! The micro brew selection is excellent, most significantly their selection of Green Flash brews (SAN DIEGO!!!). Stoked to find a place that brings a little bit of San Diego to South Miami. Can't wait to come back. Super stoked this place is a gem.
(5)Green L.
I ordered the big ben sub which was pretty awsome right up until i bit into a piece of bone. Ouch! Be careful when you order from this place.
(3)Tiffany L.
They're gonna call the ATF on this place... Because it's THE BOMB!! I only like ribs from Flanagans and HERE! Staff is great, newly renovated. Awesome sandwiches &&&& .. desserts!!
(5)Michael M.
Awesome subs and barbeque. The subs I go for are the Pastrami Reuben, Chicken Teriyaki, or (when I am feeling extra hungry) the Big Ben (half a rack of off the bone ribs topped with coleslaw and onion rings on a sub roll). The bar is very nice with a huge selection of microbrews. Miles better than other sub places in the South Dade area. However, the BBQ is a must have. There is a reason why they win so many competitions. The pulled pork is juicy, tender, and I always get it sauce-on. The brisket is excellent and always sauce-off (as a sauce man, myself, I still get sauce on the side for the occasional dip). The ribs are the mac daddy of the BBQ here, though. For about the same price as a full rack just about anywhere else (maybe even a few bucks cheaper) you get a full rack of meaty, tender ribs that let you know why T&W wins all of those competitions. The Sweet Tea is good.
(5)Soheezy O.
Menu is open to all your cravings. Beers in the back. Owner is more friendly than your pops.
(5)David C.
Now I heard about this place many times from Yelp and everyone was dead right! This place is amazing! It's literally right around the corner from me, a not so secret hidden gem. Service was incredible and the food was beyond awesome! The BBQ brisket sub had my name written all over it! A definite return spot!

Good local bbq in US1. I came here the other day for lunch. Easy to find in the strip mall. This place is a nice size restaurant with tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your meal and watch some TV. Staff is very nice and friendly as well as the owner. This place does bbq and hit and cold subs. Didn't try the subs just the bbq. Started off with the brisket platter with bbq bean's and fried corn. The beans had a nice Smokey taste and the corn was good you couldn't tell it was fried. The brisket was sliced thin and then grilled with onions and au jus sauce. I also tried the bbq pork cheese fries. The fries were fried crispy with pulled bbq pork that tasted great with cheese sauce. Will definitely go back again.

It's always a pleasure to support a local business, especially when they sell such tasty BBQ. I'm even willing to drive long distances for it! Having heard about this place from fellow BBQ conossieur Donald T., I made the drive on this Saturday afternoon. They have now upgraded the entry sign from his original picture. You walk in and order cafeteria style, while chatting with Tom (the T in the name :) and are immediately caressed by the BBQ aroma and the variety of delicious meat products to be had whether in a sandwich or plate. This feels like an incomplete review, then, due to the sheer variety. Since I couldn't decide between pork and chicken, they offered to prepare a sampler plate or pulled pork and chicken. Both meats were well seasoned and juicy. The chicken was my favorite, as it's tender white meat was well seasoned in their house-made BBQ sauce. Sweet and tangy with vinegar notes, it's a dessert snob and BBQ fan's dream. You can even use it to dip their sweet potato fries. Reasonably priced and with a nice big screen TV, too? Heck yes! I plan to keep making the drive and coming back, I look forward to seeing this restaurant grow!
(4)Veronica J.
I decided to finally check this place out and I am so glad that I did. I had a BBQ craving! I ordered half rack of baby backs with collard greens, baked beans and coleslaw. I also got an order of brisket with fries...The ribs were very tender and had a good smoke ring. Not much flavor without sauce though. The brisket was really good! Very moist . The sides were eh....The coleslaw had good flavor but too much mayonaise for my taste. The beans were fair as were the fries. The collard greens were my favorite.
(4)André A.
This place has very good ribs and very good subs. I had a here's chicken bomb. Do not underestimate the kick in that Jerry sauce, haha. The beer selection was very nice and they have fair prices for Miami standards. I will be back for sure.
(4)Dominique C.
The ribs were the best I've had! (Better than shivers) - caramelized glaze of smoked heaven in my mouth is what was going on, and I enjoyed every second of it. The pastrami sandwich was flavorful, full of sin (in a good way) and fresh just like everything else served. Even the coleslaw contributed a crisp company to our amazing meal. They have a great selection of beer too! And they have real sweet tea which is always a plus. I recommend this spot if you're in the mood for wings or very hungry for some southern comfort. I will definitely be back.
(5)Jimmy M.
Huge servings. Our steak bomb sandwich was massive and so was our side salad. Very tasty and had leftovers despite splitting between two people. We ate in the bar in the back, good place to watch a game with many large TVs. Staff was super friendly and gave us a ton of options for our food. They also had some west coast craft beer taps ($5-6) which is awesome for us since we just moved here from Portland, Oregon and most beers on the menu in this area leave a lot to be desired.
(5)Matt M.
Subs are their specialty and are always great! Try the ribs or the wings...they are fantastic!!!! Fast paced but they get the food out quick and delicious! Loved the fries also!! Check out the bar in the back with the huge projection TV, great for games and if not playing, just ask they will put it on for you!! Huge selection of craft beers!!
(5)Charlie S.
This is the best sub place in the area hands down. If you go to Subway you have to ask yourself where's the beef? Not here these are excellent subs and they are big.
(5)K B.
I don't go here enough. This place is amazing. The atmosphere is nice, the food is fantastic, and most of the staff is amazing as well (look for Tina if you're there). I'm not the best judge of ribs, but I can tell you their really, really, really good here. The portions of food are huge. I always ordered a full rack with collard greens, baked beans, and mac and cheese. Can't go wrong there. But there's plenty of other stuff on the menu. The subs are terrific. There is a great little sports bar in the back. Huge tv screens, plenty of craft beers. Great for a game. I once ate at the Pollo Tropical across the street, as I was being treated to lunch by someone else. I looked over, across the street at T & W, wishing I was there. There's no trop-chop that corporate America could conceive that would come close to the quality and taste of any dish from T & W. I thought of that as I stared out the window that day, and I shed a small tear. Thankfully I was able to return and order my usual full rack from here on my next paycheck. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I was here just over a year ago and loved it. I was very concerned that the change in ownership might affect the food. But no! The food is every bit as good as I remembered. Service was excellent; brisket, cole slaw & beans were great. Ribs were tasty, meaty & smokey but not falling off the bone. Very casual decor, paper plates, plastic utensils. There's a bar (wine & beer) in a separate room in the back. Highly recommend this place (now called Substantial Subs and BBQ) in a small shopping center on US1.
(5)Melanie U.
My bf introduced me to this place as he lives close by and these are by far the best subs I have EVER had. I love the service, staff is always patient and helpful and funny too. The only thing is my bf always seems to get his order with something he didnt want or missing something that he did want. Other than that, all good. I like dining in, its very casual with lots of huge tvs displaying sports. Food has always been fresh and flavorful, a favorite!

Unfortunately I am removing T&W from my list of bookmarked restaurants. We called to place a takeout order and we quickly realized they are not the restaurant we used to enjoy. The lady who answered the phone was very impatient and down right rude. When she answered she did not say T&W, she said some other name, so I thought I called the wrong number. When I asked she said that is the name outside, but the new name is...(I still don't know what she said). She seemed annoyed as my question. Then when we asked if the menu is the same, her annoyance continued. Against my better judgement, I continued to place my order and my husband spoke to her and placed his. When we hung up we compared notes and agreed she was just plain rude. We decided not to give them our business and called back and canceled. Unfortunately we are no longer going to enjoy the BBQ and PLEASANT atmosphere at T&W. We wish the new owners well.
(1)Risa S.
Grabbed dinner and was greeted and served by very friendly staff. The atmosphere is that of sandwich shop meets local bar, very casual laid back place! We ordered onion rings, cheese fries, and split a steak sandwich. The onion rings and cheese fries were good, but nothing that couldn't be duplicated at a fast food joint (great pricing though!). The steak sandwich (we asked for a Philly cheese steak sandwich, but I'm not sure if we were served the correct thing or this was what their version of the sandwich was) was basic. I'm a sandwich fiend (always trying to find a legit non-chain sub shop down here), but unfortunately I wasn't blown away like other yelpers!
(2)Ivan A.
Had some time to kill and needed a good lunch. This place came up on Yelp and the pictures sold me. I had the corned beef and pastrami with grilled onions and the cheese and bacon fries. It's a LOT of food but soooo good!

Came here for lunch one day since my co-worker said it had great sandwiches. On my yelp app, there was a check in for a free draft beer so I was kinda excited to use it. However, when I got there, the waitress said they changed owners and that they don't do the free beer anymore. :( I ordered a Blue Moon anyways and also a rueben sandwich. I liked how the waitress customized my sandwich asking if I wanted wheat or white, mayo, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper. Kinda reminds me of Subway in that aspect. The rueben was really good with lots of meat. The bacon was crispy and the sandwich itself was huge. The waitress however became less attentive even though the restaurant itself was not that busy. My friend ordered extra buffalo sauce for like 3 times and she kept forgetting. It also took a long time for us to get our check, around 10-15 minutes when we asked for it. Overall, I would go again for lunch.
(4)Kat Y.
First time here and loved it. Owner came out and talked to us, super cool guy! Staff was extremely nice as well. Great beer selection as well. Defiantly becoming our spot. Prices are fantastic! Order 4 craft beers, an app and 2 subs all for $40!
(5)Wade S.
What a Joke! Came here around 9:00 pm, and there were about four customers sitting down eating. We were greeted by the cook, and one other employee as we walked in. This is where the compliments end. Stood ready to order while four employees standing right in front of us for five minutes totally ignored us. Two of the employees were teenage girls who could only manage to gossip while they stood with their backs to us. The other two employees were...... Well, I don't know what they were stupid is probably a good word. This was our first time coming, and it will also be our last. This is how businesses fail. You have to nail it with first time customers. To the owner: get a copy of "Raving Fans" and read it! Your welcome! And thanks for the shitty service.

My brother insisted I try this place. I am a regular at Shorty's, so I figured I would appease my brother so he'd stop bothering me. After my lunch, I have decided that I am no longer a regular at Shorty's. The ribs I had were far meatier, far more tender, and were far more flavorful. Not only are the ribs much better, but the value is much better than at Shorty's. This is my new favorite place for BBQ ribs. Went back today for a sub. Ordered a steak sub with cheese. Remember the old Wendy's commercial "where's the beef?" I actually walked out hungry. Lesson learned. Good for ribs, not for subs.
(3)Joon L.
its not the same place it used to be. lets put it this way... steak bomb and all other subs taste like franchise food. portions gotten A LOT smaller (on top of the raised price), TASTELESS wings, rude service... i used to come to this place all the time. unfortunately not gonna happen anymore. i gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried 3 more times before leaving this comment on yelp. just terrible...
(1)Tracie H.
Brisket has excellent flavor and we'll done. Good beer selection on draft (all the way to the end). Hubby liked the ribs. Also good customer service.
(5)Ken G.
Tried this place for the 1st time and will go back again. Ordered 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and two sides (cole slaw and baked beans. Also, a garden salad. Everything was scrumptious. I ordered my food to go and it did not take long at all.
(4)Dave W.
It's always fun to inject a little chaos, combined with great food and friendly service, in to your life. This well concealed strip mall locale is the perfect place to do just that. The menu is monstrous with various sandwiches, subs, burgers and barbecue. Several items come in a "bomb" format but I don't know what it means as I stuck to classic barbecue on the first visit. Having been to many barbecue Meccas in Texas, I couldn't help but compare. The ribs were definitely competitive and the brisket was smoky although perhaps more dry that the worlds finest. However, I made one discovery that puts this place above all the rest... You can order Cuban coffee and importantly, the famed Colada - many shots of Cuban coffee in one cup for your caffeinated hedonistic life altering experience. Cuban coffee and barbecue. Get used to it. I hope in years to come, all barbecue will be served this way. But, for now, come to this one place on planet earth that does and enjoy. We did!
(4)Jason T.
We had the pastrami with sautéed onions and it was great. They screwed up our first sandwich but one of the owners came by the table and was very nice and apologetic. They replaced our sandwich for free. We will definitely be coming back
(5)Cristin R.
Had lunch here today. This is one of a select list of delicious places to eat in palmetto bay or near. I went with the honey mustard chicken sub with grilled onions, and mushrooms. The bread was fresh and soft. The chicken was perfectly cooked. Overall, great sub. The place was also packed and they served coladas. The colada was delicious, comparable to Versailles. The staff is awesome. You have to go to this gem! The colada maker has a special place in my heart.
(5)Lisa G.
So I kind of stopped here on a whim with my husband for lunch yesterday. I was really surprised...in a good way! The staff was super friendly, the portions are huge and from what I can tell, they have a decent beer menu. I ordered a hot roast been and onion sub which I had to share because it was pretty big, and really delicious. The meat was super tender and tasty. Apparently they make it daily. I saw what other people were getting and pretty much everything looked good. Definitely the place to go, but not if you're watching your waist. Quite the hidden little gem.
(4)Juan Carlos M.
Excellent customer service. Once entering I was greeted immediately and felt welcomed. Guided throughout ordering process and felt at ease. Very cordial and professional interaction. Ordered 1/3 baby rack ribs and two sides plus a complementary corn bread. Ribs were a bit over done but did not lack flavor and was juicy. I recommend the fried corn and sweet beans.
(5)Sharon S.
THIS IS REAL BBQ!! THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME ON THE 4TH OF JULY, 2015. The food was unbelievable!! The ribs and chicken had real char on them and the staff will make sure you have BBQ sauce cooked on your meat. Only if you want it!! It is personalized for your taste! Go figure that! lol. We also had baked beans, corn bread & french fries. ( not ORE IDA) They were all home made and delicious. With one exception, the mac & cheese did not have enough flavor and was not creamy enough. But The 2 subs we also got were the chicken bomb, & the steak bomb. They were both delicious and very filling!! The prices were really good too!! If I could I would move in!! This is my new love!! I cant wait to get back!! Thanks for this wonderful experience!!
(5)Evelyn S.
Just a little gem. I don't think you can go wrong with anything they serve. Especially the beers.
(5)W. Paul C.
Well, first of all, the pace of work is fast and stressful, but the folks there seem to be having a good time. Even at busy times of day, it's amazing how fast you will get your order. A favorite with our family is the steak-mushroom-onion sub, which is really good. Lots of other good stuff to choose from. Reasonable prices. What more could one want?
(5)Armando L.
I feel so torn. Having read the reviews from my fellow yelpers, we rushed over to give this place a try. It's Saturday evening, about an hour and a half before close. Parking lot is empty, so no issue with that. Location is unique as the entrance leads you through a doorway, but the line starts towards the back. Being that this was our first time we decided to give a few menu items to try. We ordered two full racks of the baby backs a pound of brisket fries green beans and mac-n-cheese and corn. We tried to order a beer but were told that we would have to go to the back of the restaurant where they have a small bar and place a separate order for the alcohol. Not a big deal, just different. The food was prepared and served very quickly which was nice. The first thing I noticed in the main contributor for the two stars was that the ribs were so done that they looked more like tenderloin. They were really not edible. We wound up giving one and a half of the racks to another patron as they walked in. The brisket was ok, not great, not bad, just ok. We wound up throwing the better part of 1/3 of the pound away. The green beans and the cornbread were cold and got tossed as well. The Mac-n-cheese was pretty good as were the fries, this got them the second star. Unfortunately the food was so bad that even if they were just having an off night, we wouldn't risk going back.
(2)Yesenia A.
Some of the best pulled pork I've had! Super fast service! The staff is very hip and friendly.
(5)J D.
Some of the best bbq ever made! Truly the most tender beef and pulled pork! The beef was impossibly tender. It melted in my mouth. & The bbq sauce wasn't too sweet and not too vinegary. Looked it up on Yelp on the way back from the Everglades and were incredibly surprised. We got a steak sub, a corned beef Reuben sub, a pulled pork plate, and a brisket plate between the four of us. Plus baked beans, cole slaw and Mac n cheese. We were a little disappointed to hear they were out of pastrami, because my boyfriend and I are on a lifelong quest to find the best Reuben sandwiches (we love corned beef but are partial to pastrami) ...but it was a Sunday... And their bbq made up for it! Definitely not something we would have found or even considered if it weren't for Yelp. Looks can be deceiving! This place is tucked back in a plaza next to an animal hospital and a realty place and the storefront is anything but flashy. But it's worth a stop! Really really incredible food and it looked like they had plenty of craft beer and beers on tap too. However, I will never fall for a "1 free craft beer with check-in" on Yelp again. Bogus, yelp, bogus.
(4)Freddy C.
I been going to this place for almost like 5 years and this is the best subs place in Cutler Bay! This make Subway and Quiznos look like crap. Haha! Seriously i love service and the food. It's fresh and its huge!! I'm a big guy and I love to eat. Usually at subway or I'll order a foot long and I'm still hungry. Over there I can order fries and those mini hot cookies and I'm full!! They have everything!! Ribs, steak, even breakfast. Can't go wrong with this place.
(5)TTman F.
If you like eating subs, you have to try this place. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich, but any sub you try is wonderful. The employees are also very nice and helpful.
(5)Alexandra M.
There are very few words that can adequately describe just how much I love this place. Everything here is delicious. The quarter chicken is my lunch usual. As is the spicy chicken wrap. The ribs are seriously out of this world. They are delicious. And I can't forget to shout out their pretty impressive craft beer selection. The prices are great, the food is quality, and the atmosphere reminds me of one of those small town bar places (I personally love that). You can't go wrong with eating here!
(5)Marla V.
I've been here for subs and have never been disappointed but after reading an article in Miami New Times, I knew I needed to try their BBQ. Again, I am big on local joints and love supporting local businesses. We came for lunch and ordered BBQ ribs, baked beans, sweet potato fries and corn bread. Everything was delicious. The BBQ sauce was amazing! The owner was very friendly and walked around to ensure all of his guests were taken care of. This is a place I can't wait to go back to again and again!
(4)Lacey C.
Literally a hole-in-the-wall. Walk in and head straight to the back--ignore the counter, ignore the booths.. The bar looks a little sketchy, but it's actually quite cozy back there. You'll get good service and a beer to go with that killer BBQ. Say "hey" for me!
(3)Brandy B.
Ive been going to both location for a few years. Love the breakfast, great deals! Subs are to die for, they pack the subs with so much meat and toppings. Amazong customer service!!!
(5)Donald T.
The new restaurant at this location has had a "soft" opening, and I like what I've seen and eaten so far. It's the picture of a "mom and pop" operation: The owners are Tom and Wendy (hence the T & W) Wills. There was a sub shop at this location, but the new ownership has done some remodeling (which is not completed yet), and brought in a couple of smokers to make BBQ brisket (sliced), pork shoulder (pulled) and baby back pork ribs. They've opened up the middle of the restaurant so that the customers can interact more with the food preparers and cooks, and added a row of booths on the north side. If you run over there, keep in mind that some of the details are not completed yet. They were phoning in credit card orders. I ended up ordering the smoked brisket on a sub, and kept saying "yes" to the house BBQ sauce, and various vegetables. I should have listened to the owner, Tom, who quietly mentioned that everything I added to the sandwich would get between me and the brisket! The sandwich was tasty, but he was right. I grabbed a fork and cleaned up the second half of the sandwich, but the BBQ sauce didn't let me judge the naked brisket. After doing some shopping up the road, I came back to see whether the ribs were ready, but they still needed another hour. I bought a half pound of the smoked brisket to take home with me. I don't know what the "official" price will be, but it was sold to me for a very modest price, which may not be the permanent one, as the menus and menu board are not out yet. It was smoky and tender, and I wanted to inhale it! Some of the BBQ sides I learned were on the way are house-made corn bread and baked mac & cheese. Based on what I saw and ate, I recommend T & W Subs and BBQ! As this is very close to my house, you can be sure I'll be working my way through the menu.
(4)Walt D.
The Tom sauce alone is 5 stars itself. I'm a fan of the pulled pork on Texas toast. Plus there's a new bar in the back.
(5)Minerva N.
BEST Chicken Wings in South Dade: Fried OR Grilled and I'm in love with the Garlic Parmesan Fried Wings - I just cannot get enough of them!! LOL A must try for wing lovers...and they've got some REALLY great subs, too (Teriyaki Beef or Chicken is one of my favorites). I've also had their barbecue and it's okay, so I plan to try their new invention next: Baby Back rib meat on a sub roll topped with cole slaw (called the Carolina BBQ in other places).... Also, they've got incredibly fresh grilled corn on the cob - sweet and delicious...And NOW they've even got table service with Tina as waitress! She really gives great energy and cheeriness in serving others , so there's NO waiting in line unless you want to do so...LOL Wow! This is a win-win meal and I highly recommend this place. Am recommending it via email to Guy Fieri's DDD. Definitely worth the drive for you who live North of us Perrine/Cutler Bay denizens. Enjoy!
(4)Jeffrey F.
After reading the great reviews I decide to stop in and try it out. The place is basically a hole in the wall in Cutler Ridge. I tried the Texas toast brisket sandwich it came with fries and I also got a side of baked beans. The brisket itself was decent it had a nice smoke rings and a good flavor although with a bit fatty for my taste. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil and the baked beans just were terrible. The Texas toast was just two pieces of white bread toasted. I was expecting a nice thick buttered grilled piece of toast and I got nothing of the sort. The hot subs look decent at this place but I cannot imagine not driving a few miles down the road and going to Shivers barbecue if you were in the area and craving BBQ. I doubt I'll go back
(2)Sabrina G.
Decided to check this place out on a whim. And I'm glad I did! Customer service is great, my order was made quick and correct which is always a big plus and my steak bomb was on point!! Definitely coming back again
(5)Anthony K.
The only reason why I came here is because of my work collegues, if they didn't come I wouldn't have even considered coming here. The service really by far sucks, I have sat dined in and now taken out. Today has just struck the last nail in the coffin. Went to sit down by the bar, was sat there for 10 minutes and no body came or could be seen. Went to the take out side, stood there for 10 minutes without anybody taking the order. When they finally asked, they took the order wrong, had to wait again for them to make it and still ended up charging me after the 3rd attempt. The fact that it wasnt busy when we got there and they caused themselfs the long line I don't sympathize and presume it was the owner who was taking the orders at the time was more concerned about talking crap. I honestly don't care, was hungry and haven't been there since. If only there was a 0 star option and that I would have chosen over 1 star.

I can't speak for their subs only BBQ. We had high hopes with all the great reviews on here , but were disappointed. The brisket was boiled, extremely fatty and had no flavor- by the time I sat down it was cold. Mac and cheese was also cold. BBQ beans were decent tasted like a sweetened version of bushes baked beans. Hopefully their subs are better then their BBQ.

Since I started working in the area in February, I can't believe it took me five months before trying this place. It is currently my favorite restaurant for lunch in my work area. The steak subs are the best around the area and very popular. They do BBQ too, real BBQ with a smoker, and it's quite good for the price. Not the best that I've had, but still quite good. The brisket, pulled pork, and chicken are all good. I'm still working on trying other things on the menu. I tried a honey mustard chicken bomb sub, and it is also for the win. Highly recommended!

I have to admit...I was pretty apprehensive about returning to T&W Subs after the first impression I got from them...but I'm glad I gave them a second chance. Around the beginning of 2012 I went to T&W in the middle of the afternoon with a friend and immediately turned and walked out the door because the place was infested with flies...and having worked in a restaurant that is a big no-no. Fast forward about 6 months and a buddy of mine was telling me to go to T&W because the food was delicious and I should really give it a shot. No thanks...I can't bring myself to eat at a place that has such poor standards when it comes to cleanliness (which leads me to question the freshness of the food as well). Fast forward another 6 months to now...the beginning of 2013. The same friend mentioned that I should go to T&W again...and yet again I told him that I wouldn't be going there....but he insisted on telling me that he has had great food there and I should really try it. So I decided to finally give in and give T&W another chance to impress me. My buddy had mentioned to me that the pulled pork and brisket were awesome...and another friends review mentioned that the wings and ribs were fantastic so upon my arrival I couldn't decide what to get. I asked the guy that was attending the counter (who happened to be the manager) that I was tossing up between those options and he said "Trust me, go with the ribs"...so I went with the ribs. I ordered the half rack of ribs which comes with your choice of two sides and a big chunk of corn bread....add a drink to that and I was only paying about $12....all things considered thats a really reasonable price considering there is another BBQ joint around the corner from my house and a half rack of ribs STARTS at $15. I chose the Mac & Cheese and the Cole Slaw as my sides. While I was waiting the manager also noticed my motorcycle helmet in my hand and he mentioned that they were going to be starting a bike night pretty soon and that I should swing by....you just won some bonus points in my mind with that because there aren't anymore bike nights around this area. Then he proceeded to tell me that last night they also did a beer tasting in the little bar that they have in the back (which wasn't there the last time I came by). He mentioned that they had a bunch of craft beers to choose from instead of just the regular Bud & Miller...which gave them even more bonus points because I am very much into craft beers. When I finally got my food I was amazed at how much was actually given to me. The ribs were absolutely delicious and when you add their BBQ sauce that they have on every table it just takes them to a whole other level. The mac & cheese and the cole slaw were delicious, as was the homemade cornbread. All in all...I am very happy that I FINALLY gave T&W another shot because they produce a great product and I am looking forward to the next time I can make it in there to try some of their other delicious BBQ.

What a great place, the bar is VERY well stocked with awesome craft beers. The sandwiches are amazing as well. Wish they were open a little later though.

This is a great local spot for tasty subs and delicious barbecue. T&W offers a full subs menu, similar to most small sub shops. I have had some of their subs and all are delicious and well-sized. However, what sets T&W apart from other sub shops is its' barbecue. The owner Tom has barbecue down to an art, and he is usually there giving his suggestions for hungry diners. The barbecue brisket is perfectly smoked and tender. Try it on a sub with mushrroms onions and peppers! Every table has Tom's delicious barbecue sauce ("Tom's Sauce" as its called) and it makes that delicious brisket sub complete. On my last visit I tried Tom's award winning grilled wings, and they were out of this world! I tried the barbecue style wings (on the advice of Tom himself) and they may have been the best wings I've tasted. The wings are smoked first and then grilled, giving the wings a soft, moist center and a great char on the outside. The Tom's Sauce kick the wings up to another level! The friendly staff and the great food always has be anticipating my next visit. Keep it up!

It is a local spot..I'm not local..will not be returning. Service was nice. Food was average. And I need it to be cleaner for a completely enjoyable experience. I'm trying to be nice because I want to support small businesses, but quality counts and the numbers don't add up.

This place is AWESOME! Not only is it the best BBQ i've had in Miami, but the prices are unbelievably low. We had half rack, two sides, two sweet tea's (real, fresh brewed, southern sweet tea!), and full size italian sub --- bill was only $20! This is unheard in the land of overcharge, under deliver Miami. We were a little hesitant because most places are either sub shop or bbq spot. T&W attempted to be both, and that they are! BBQ sauce is delicious! Sub was big, fresh meats, and very filling. Next time I'll bring a dessert home as there was no room this trip! Staff is super friendly. Seem like genuine group of good ol country folks. Bar has a huge projection tv with excellent clarity - perfect for watching sports. Cant wait to go back!

About as close to flawless as it gets. I love the bbq, but not a die-hard, know it all fan. I just love it. I love their passion, the simplicity of the place. I love the prices. What I do know, are subs. And their cold sub is as close to flawless as it gets, certainly in Miami-Dade (La Spada's original still is the sub to beat). Great kids meal (grilled cheese)... great fries, grilled wings awesome. Fountain soda... delivery... They get 5. Stay sharp T&W!!!

I was really impressed by the quality of the food in T&W Subs. They'll make anything you want, and will go ou tof their way to make sure you're happy. The bar in the back is an added plus.

Co-worker recommended this place to me, finally had a chance to test it out. Had the Steak bomb on white bread, I must say I left this place with a grin from ear to ear. Definitely will be coming back to test out the rest of the menu.

Good BBQ, considering there aren't a lot of places to get great BBQ in Miami. Will go back eventually when I'm craving pulled pork.
